Daniel Winik is a Partner at Andrew & Hopkins, counseling U.S. and multinational corporations, family offices, and senior executives across the full lifecycle of tax matters: tax advisory and planning, corporate and business taxation, tax disputes and litigation, indirect taxes (VAT, customs, excise), and tax compliance and regulatory advisory. His practice spans federal, state, and international tax, and he is engaged when a tax question is also a business question.
Daniel has particular experience advising on indirect taxes — value-added tax, customs duties, and excise regimes — as well as on the U.S. tax aspects of inbound and outbound investments. He regularly supports M&A and restructuring transactions with integrated tax due diligence and post-closing implementation, and represents clients in IRS examinations, IRS Appeals, and Tax Court litigation when controversy cannot be resolved on the file.
Based in London with admissions in the U.S. and England, Daniel is uniquely positioned to advise on the cross-border tax architecture that defines the multinational operations of modern corporations and family offices. He is admitted in New York, the U.S. Tax Court, and as a Solicitor of England & Wales, and counsels in English and German.
