Program Structure
The firm's associate program is built around four principles: meaningful work from the first day, direct partner engagement, candid feedback, and clear advancement standards.
First-Year Foundation
New associates spend their first weeks in firm-wide and practice-specific training, then begin work on live matters under direct partner supervision. We do not warehouse junior lawyers on document review; first-year work includes substantive research, drafting, and direct client communication where appropriate.
Mid-Level Development
Mid-level associates take on case management responsibilities, mentor more junior associates, and participate in substantive client meetings. The mid-level years are when most associates begin specializing in a primary practice area while retaining exposure to adjacent work.
Senior Associates and Partnership Consideration
Senior associates run matters under partner oversight, build their own client relationships, and prepare for partnership consideration. The firm's partnership process is transparent and timed to a clearly defined advancement standard.
Feedback and Mentorship
Every associate is assigned a partner-level mentor and a senior associate buddy. Formal performance reviews occur annually, but candid, real-time feedback is the firm's expected practice on every significant matter.
